Frequently Asked Questions

1. How should you choose a Flow Meter Size?

It depends on your process’s liquid flow rate requirement and also the pipeline size. The pipeline size allows you to select positive displacement meters with the appropriate flange or thread connection. The flow rate helps you choose a flowmeter with better accuracy in calibrated flow range ratios.

2. What are the benefits of using a differential flow meter?

The differential flow meter is ideal for engine consumption measurement, be it in boilers, furnaces, diesel generator sets, or even vehicles. Every diesel engine has a supply and a return line in which the difference of volume is the actual consumption of an engine. Thus using two independent flow sensors in the two lines and finding their measured volume difference is the technique used in differential flow meters.

3. What are the different types of flow meters?

Flowmeters can be primarily classified as inferential and non-inferential. Inferential flowmeters infer liquid volume from flow rate in pipelines. Magnetic, vortex, Coriolis mass, ultrasonic are the most common inferential techniques.

Non-inferential flowmeters directly measure liquid volume, which is most desirable for expensive liquids such as white oils and chemicals since billing is by the liter. The positive displacement flow meter is the only example of this technique. There are many variants in positive displacement meters, such as rotary piston, rotary vane, oval gear, and nutating disc, among others. And as the most reliable positive displacement flow meter manufacturers in India, we offer the highest quality flowmeter technologies to our customers.

4. How does a positive displacement flowmeter work?

It works by directly measuring fluid volume rather than fluid flow rate. This is what makes industrial positive displacement flowmeter highly accurate because of their direct measurement of volume. The flow is divided into smaller volume segments and measured accurately as opposed to other inferential techniques like magnetic, vortex, mass, etc.

5. Which flowmeter is most precise?

While selecting a diesel flowmeter, it is recommended to use positive displacement flow meter since diesel measurement demands high accuracy and repeatability due to its use as a commercial fuel and cost. PD flow meters directly measure volume of diesel measured as opposed to inferential techniques. They are the same flow meters used on commercial fuel retail outlets.
